Every number on SpecPeak is produced by a consistent, documented process. This page explains where our data comes from, how we turn it into scores and FPS estimates, and where the limits are — so you can judge the data for yourself.
Performance score (0–100)
Each product receives a single performance score from 0 to 100. We start from an absolute, third-party benchmark figure — PassMark's widely used GPU and CPU marks — and express it relative to the strongest product we currently track. Because the score is relative, the launch of a new flagship automatically re-balances the whole ranking: last year's leader no longer sits at 100 forever. We keep the underlying figure at full precision when sorting, so two parts that round to the same displayed score still hold a stable, distinct position.
Real-world FPS estimates
The in-game frame rates shown on SpecPeak are estimates, not measured guarantees. They are derived from each product's measured performance using our own model and presented at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K to give a realistic sense of how a part behaves across resolutions. Because they are modelled, they can differ by a few percent from figures published elsewhere. Treat them as guidance and confirm critical numbers against hands-on reviews before buying.
Benchmarks
Alongside our aggregate score we show recognised synthetic benchmarks — such as 3DMark, Geekbench, Blender, and PassMark — so you can compare parts on the workloads that matter to you, not just a single headline figure.
Specifications
Hardware specifications are compiled from manufacturer datasheets and reputable public hardware databases, then standardised so every product is described the same way. For example, multi-node chiplet manufacturing processes are normalised to a single comparable value so closely related parts group together correctly.
Community ratings
Owner ratings and vote counts reflect aggregated community sentiment. To avoid misleading averages, we only display an aggregate rating once a product has received a minimum number of votes. Ratings complement the objective data — they never feed into the performance score or the ranking.
How often data is updated
New products are added as they launch, and existing data is reviewed and refreshed on an ongoing basis. Prices and availability change quickly, so always confirm the current price at the retailer before purchasing.
Limitations and disclaimers
SpecPeak aggregates and models data to make comparison easier; it is not a substitute for hands-on testing of a specific unit in your own system. Real performance varies with drivers, cooling, the rest of your components, and the game or application version.
Corrections
If a figure looks wrong, tell us on the Contact page with the product name and what you expected to see. We review every report and correct confirmed errors promptly.
